The Lydian mode is a great way to open up your leads over a Major chord. Let's explore the possibilities of that scale.

Lydian mode is almost the same thing as major scale/ionian mode. The only difference is sharp 4th in Lydian mode. This lesson is riffing only, using downstrokes only most of the time to get that powerful metal like sound.

The Lydian mode is one of my favorites. It brings a mysterious kind of feel to a major 7th chord and is often used to "open up" a musical piece.
